D&D's Wedding | The Oasis at Death Valley

After my first consultation call with Dina and Daniel, I knew deep in my soul we were meant to cross paths. It was the same feeling I felt with a previous Death Valley couple of mine from 2021, Stephanie and Ming. I have been blessed with the most amazing couples, but there are those few who have taken a piece of my heart with them at the end of the wedding day.

The Oasis at Death Valley is a beautiful, quaint historic hotel nestled into a mountain. I can't even begin to explain the beauty of golden hour or how bright the damn stars are at night, it's something you truly have to experience in person. One very tricky element though is mother nature herself, specifically the wind. As a planner whose weddings are 99.9% of the time outdoors you learn to work with it. Luckily, Dina and Daniel had the BEST weather the weekend of their wedding - 76 degrees, sunny, and a light kiss of a breeze that wasn't enough to disturb the paper place cards. It was what all planners pray and hope for in terms of weather, so moving forward the first weekend of November will always be my suggestion for an outdoor wedding in Death Valley!

The Oasis is a fairly intimate sized property making it convenient to hose different parts of your wedding in different locations without having to walk a million miles. For D&D we started with their private first look in the Casita Lawn, my favorite spot on the hotel grounds! Ceremony then took place in Mission Garden which is across the little two lane road from the front parking lot of the hotel. Following the ceremony everyone migrated back to the hotel to the Panamint Deck to capture sunset and then returned to Mission Garden for dinner and dancing. All of this was walkable so we didn't have to worry about hiring shuttles. If someone needed help getting from site to site the hotel assisted by driving those guests in golf carts!

Fun fact: If you stay in a private Casita at The Oasis you get your own private golf cart to use for the duration of your stay.
